Summary
Bob Dickson is an expert at fighting fires. And after 40 years of dealing with community fires, fire halls, and fire crews, he has acquired a knowledge and skill base second to none. His resume includes being a Fire Chief, being an Assistant Fire Chief, being an Assistant to the Fire Marshall, being a Training Officer, being an auxiliary fire fighter, and being a voluntary fireman. As well, he taught courses to rookie fire personnel on all aspects of firefighting for the Justice Institute of B. C. All of his work with fires-be they firestorms or tiny hot spots-were carried out while working as a steam engineer at pulp mills and large plants throughout B. C. In later years, he was both a dedicated fire-man and an effective teacher of anything from ladder usage to auto extrication. Today, he is retired and living quietly with his wife Shirley in Castlegar in the West Kootenays
