Summary
The first season in this series is an odyssey that unfolds ten years before Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise: Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) is one of Star Fleet's most respected first officers. A human raised as a Vulcan, Burnham learned early that "all life is born from chaos". Her defiance of a direct order from her captain (Michelle Yeoh) is followed by a violent, all-out war with the Klingon Empire, and she is sentenced to life in prison as Star Fleet's first mutineer---until Captain Lorca (Jason Isaacs) 'recruits' her aboard the U.S.S. Discovery. But things are not what they seem. Joining her on the Discovery is a former colleague, Saru (now First Officer), Chief Engineer Paul Stamets, Cadet Sylvia Tilly, and Chief of Security Ash Tyler. Their powers of logic, science and compassion will merge on their determined quest for victory, survival and peace
