- Summary
- The Appalachian Region includes mountains that are much older than in the western cordillera but not nearly as high. Erosian processes have worn down these once majestic old mountains. In between the mountains there are plains, lowlands and valleys with fertile soil. The mixed coniferous and deciduous forests are home to caribou, moose, and black bears. Some of the best fishing in the world can be found in this region. Oral tradition used be the Mi'Kmaq people tell the stories of how many geological formations came to be
