Summary
After an exhausting series of battles, the British and Spanish armies push their way into southwestern France. Rumours abound that Napoleon has surrendered, been murdered, or fled but one last, bloody battle must be fought to gain the city of Toulouse. Even then, Sharpe's war is not over. Accused of stealing a consignment of Napoleon's treasure, he must elude his captors, trace down an unknown enemy and resolve his own ingenious and devastating revenge
