Summary
Maverick entrepreneur Dan Randolph is struggling to create giant satellites that can gather and use solar energy, ending America's dependence on fossil fuels forever. But standing in his way are numerous powerful opponents. When Dan's spaceplane blows up during its first test flight, he traces the sabotage to a terrorist group with ties to Middle East oil, whose ultimate mission is to take control of the satellite and use it to attack the West. For help, Dan turns to his former lover, Senator Jane Thornton, who is secretly married to a presidential front-runner campaigning on an alternative energy platform. Their interests seem fated to bring them together, with only politics, business, and a terrorist attack standing in the way
