Summary
In 1976, Nahlah Ayedss family moved from Winnipeg to the squalor of a Palestinian refugee camp in Amman, Jordan, where she first observed the people whose heritage she shared. The family later returned to Canada, and Ayed became a journalist specializing in the Middle East. She describes the myriad ways in which the Arab people have fought against oppression and loss, and the wars, crackdowns, and uprisings she has reported on in countries across the region. Includes violence. 2012
