Summary
Mickey Dupree was a very successful criminal attorney with a lot of enemies, one of whom killed him at his country club. The cops focus their attentions on Virgil Cain, who threatened Mickey after he earned an acquittal for Alan Comstock, the man accused of murdering Virgil?s wife. When Virgil is thrown in jail with no investigation, he escapes, determined to find Mickey's killer before the killer finds him.
