Summary
Hugh Corbaille has just lost the person he cares for most in the world, his adoptive father, the Sheriff of Lincoln. While Hugh's grief is still raw, he is approached by a visiting noble with an unbelievable tale: Hugh is actually the son of a murdered earl and has been missing since his mysterious abduction as a boy. Despite his deep loyalty to the family that raised him, Hugh soon discovers that he may indeed be the royal heir. With the new birthright thrust upon him, Hugh unearths a web of intrigue and deception that began in the forgotten days of his childhood when he may have witnessed the murder of the earl. This tragic puzzle is far from solved, and Hugh is the only one who can still find justice
