Summary
It is a fact of life for many Aboriginal children in this country: their dads are absent. And if the statistics don't change, a growing number of First Nations boys will typically, and tragically, become absent dads themselves. In contrast to the efforts being made across the country when it comes to single Aboriginal mothers, this fatherlessness is a cycle that very few Canadians are talking about. This special report from CBC Saskatchewan looks at the problem from a historical context, including the effect on families of the residential school system. It also features the efforts of individuals and organizations in Regina working to break the cycle
