- First World War era. Aurora, at sixteen the eldest and most beautiful, thoughtful Clover, a year younger; and the youngest, headstrong Bella, who is thirteen, are three sisters and vaudevillians, forced to make their living as a singing act after the untimely death of their father. They slowly evolve into artists and adults among a cast of extraordinary characters – charming charlatans, unpredictable eccentrics, and ordinary-seeming humans with magical gifts. Some strong language, some descriptions of violence and some descriptions of sex. c2011
